Kiss My Spatula

by Anh-Minh on December 27, 2011

Since launching Anthology last year, Meg and I have collaborated with a number of talented writers, photographers, and stylists. In Issue No. 5, we had the great pleasure of working with Giao Trac, who you could say is a triple threat: She writes, shoots, and styles! Upon wrapping our fifth issue, we immediately asked her to contribute a favorite holiday recipe to our special online gift guide: jam-filled linzer cookies. And you haven’t seen the last of Giao in the pages of Anthology. We’ve got a lovely feature with her in Issue No. 6, which is scheduled to be released in late January. In the meantime, you can enjoy her beautiful food photography and storytelling, as well as recipes, on her blog Kiss My Spatula.

She Lets Her Hair Down

by Anh-Minh on November 30, 2011

With December just a day away, the holiday party season is upon us. And aside from our attire for each festivity, one of the big questions is: What to do with our hair? Thankfully, Paris-based hairstylist Rubi Jones’ blog, She Lets Her Hair Down, offers all sorts of inspiration and ideas—including advice and tutorials. Find out how to get that “perfect kind of dirty hair,” select the right blow dryer or round brush, sport a bob for a day, or create lovely curls that will last days (yes, days!).

We also love the glimpses Rubi offers of the fashion shoots and shows she’s worked on. And if you’ve got a copy of Issue No. 5 of Anthology, be sure to flip to the “A Postcard from Paris” story on page 113 to see more of her handiwork. She styled the party guests for the entertaining feature, including blogger/event planner Jordan Ferney.

By reading up on Rubi’s blog, perhaps we can all look as effortlessly chic as Jordan!

Holidays Past & Present

by kate on November 23, 2011

We are headed out to prepare for the holiday tomorrow, and to reward ourselves with a bit of rest and relaxation after a few long hard months of work. Issue 5, the Gift Guide, and our upcoming winter issue have kept us quite busy, but it’s well worth it for the chance to see the reactions of our readers and to hear all of your feedback. Thank you so much for your readership and support.

We wanted to share a bit more about ourselves with you all, so here are the staff pictures from the Gift Guide, with a little added background info. Looking at these, I’m struck by how little we’ve changed since those days—with the exception of hair and fashion choices of course :) We hope you have a wonderful holiday, and we’ll be back again on Monday. Happy Thanksgiving!

We’re thrilled to announce a new addition to the Anthology team: Kate Pruitt is joining us as our online editor. She’ll be contributing to the blog and helping to make it a great daily destination for inspiration of all sorts. Look for her first post a little later this morning. In the meantime, an introduction is in order …
