Samantha Hahn

I first saw Samantha Hahn‘s work through her blog, Maquette, and was instantly smitten. Her unique style and whimsical use of color immediately caught my attention. I spent more than one lunch break scrolling through her archives and admiring her daily drawings posts. Needless to say, I’ve been a long-time fan.

So when I found out Samantha would be illustrating not one, but two pieces for us in Issue No. 9, I couldn’t wait to see what she’d come up with. We asked her to tackle the Making the Magazine feature, and also our Screen Play column. For Making the Magazine, she captured the music memories of the Anthology team, as well as tiny outtakes from several shoots (including a lovely pair of globes!). And for the Screen Play column, the mashup of the five films we featured brought in playful elements from each. If you didn’t see them on your first pass through the magazine, it’s worth going back to check them out. And for more inspiration, make sure to check out the rest of her illustrations at Maquette or in her portfolio.
