We love working with professional photographers, and have no plans to stop, of course, but many of us at Anthology are also constantly trying to improve our own photography skills. Knowing your way around a camera can make prep work, styling, blogging, and planning future spreads so much easier. I’ve dabbled in a few photography courses at local venues, but I’m far more excited to try The Study of Light, a new online course on photographic lighting created by Sarah Rhodes of Arrow & Apple.
The course is inexpensive ($60!) and has no set schedule, but it allows you to complete projects, ask questions online, and submit your work for critique. It covers equipment, terminology basics, setting up indoor shoots, night photography, how to handle tricky outdoor lighting situations, and more. It’s very exciting to see more independent artists offer affordable online instruction, so we can all have an opportunity to develop new skills and remain students forever … my personal dream. Sounds like such a great class. Improving my photography skills has been on my to-do list for a while. Thanks for spreading the word.
Thank you so much for the sweet post, Kate! I love Anthology mag and I’d love to join forces some day and see what we could create! :)
I’m quite excited as I’ve already signed up! I’m hoping that I walk away with prettier and more consistent looking photos. :)
