Susanna Vento

by kate on June 14, 2012

We have some exciting projects lined up for the magazine this summer, including some potential new additions to the blog and some team gatherings to test food stories—one of my favorite aspects of the job. In preparation, I’ve been practicing my styling skills on a few vignettes in my studio, but occasionally I like to step back from my own work and spend a little time admiring the skills of true styling pros, like Susanna Vento. With an extensive portfolio that spans interior design, set design, prop and product styling, and more, Susanna’s style is bold yet succinct. Her scenes are often made up of only a few carefully selected elements, but they play off one another so successfully, causing the simple still life compositions to radiate energy.

While I hope to learn a few styling lessons from poring over these images, all of which were photographed beautifully by Kristiina Kuronnen, I will also just enjoy the visual treat of traveling over the details. To see more of Susanna’s work, you can visit her website here. If anyone has a favorite stylist they admire, please do tell! I’d love to add some new favorites to my ever growing list.
