One of my favorite stories in Issue No. 7 is “Mix Master,” a look at the unique furniture creations of Thomas Wold. The pieces resulting from Thomas’ freeform approach to bringing together polished materials has such a fun, whimsical feeling.
The work of Sean Woolsey struck me as an equal and opposite to Thomas Wold. Sean’s work feels like a perfect balance of rough, raw material, and orderly execution. Polished and perfectly spaced elements, like metal pipes and reclaimed wood, strike a similar balance of haphazard and precise.
While Sean also creates beautiful furniture pieces and art panels on metal that look like a blend of patina and paint, it’s his lighting collection that has me captivated. Each light focuses on the fundamental elements of a lamp that seem to often be afterthoughts. The lightbulbs, cords, switches, and plugs are all perfectly thought out and detailed, rather than hidden.

Really interestign work. I like the lamps at the first photo.
Wow. These are so beautifully rustic. Those second and last lamps are beautiful.
