Food Sketches by Erin Jang

by Kate on March 29, 2012

It’s a wonderful thing when food and art unite. We’ve celebrated this happy marriage several times before, both on the blog—Anatomy of a CupcakePantone TartsStella Cake—and on the pages of our magazine. I’m thrilled to add a new project to the bunch: these lovely Food Sketches by graphic designer and illustrator Erin Jang.

You may be familiar with Erin’s main blog The Indigo Bunting, but she just recently created Food Sketches as a place to catalogue all of the delicious morsels she snacks on. From brightly colored nougat to jalebi to matzo ball soup, Erin captures all of her snacks in gorgeously vivid graphic abstractions. I feel simultaneous desires to devour these images and cover my wall with them, which hasn’t happened since I first saw the lickable wallpaper in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. You can see more of Erin’s sketches here. Hopefully Erin will be snacking frequently, because I would like to see many more of these …
