{We have an exciting announcement! Starting this week, Anthology Magazine’s editorial assistants, Nancy Cho and Alexis Birkmeyer, will be joining us as regular contributors. Please join me in welcoming them to the blog! —Kate}
In Issue No. 5, we featured the talented Buenos Aires artist Bu Lago Milan. And this morning, I’m excited to highlight another Argentinian artist: Adriana Torres. Although the two use different mediums, both share a colorful and playful quality in their work. Adriana is the creator and designer of Miga de Pan, a company that specializes in home accessories for children and adults. In addition to her retail line, she creates beautiful and cheerful hand-embroidered pieces.
Her work caught my eye when I saw pictures of her embroidered images of actual sweaters for a fashion catalogue. I love how she puts a modern spin on this very old craft. It is also fun to see the humor in her work; especially the deer in the deer sweater and the rabbit posing in front of her carrot wallpaper.

Illusfan— Thank you for bringing this to our attention, I appreciate that you are looking out for protecting original ideas. However, I’m not sure we know enough about the context of the photos and the background of either designer to say for sure that is is plagiarism on the part of Miga de Pan. I will definitely look into it, though and share my findings. Again, thanks for letting us know!
It’s pretty hard to say who copy who, since to me the first cloud pillow that illusofan mention is pretty similar to the Donna Wilson’s ones and similar to many more I’ve seen around the web, in the last couple of years…
Dear Illusfan, I regret enough to disappoint you, but I’m very proud of the originality of my creations! I have no need to copy anything to anyone because I have too many ideas, luckily. It may be that two people in two different places in the world share the same idea and this does not mean that there has been a robbery. Of the many sketches I have, some will be more original than others, I do not know. What I do know is that you should be more careful before making such a serious charge unfounded. You should be more informed before trying to tarnish the image of a person.
