{The Dig} Fireflies at Night

by kate on February 24, 2012

Hooray for Friday! It’s been a whirlwind week; full of photo shoots, craft projects, writing frenzies, and planning sessions. It will be nice to have a couple days for catching up on reading and enjoying the utterly gorgeous weather. It’s been so warm and sunny lately that my mind can’t help but conjure images of lazy summer days and nature in full bloom. These time lapse photographs by Tsuneaki Hiramatsu of fireflies at night are so evocative of a particular kind of atmosphere, when the air is warm, and full of magic and movement even after the sun has gone down. I would love to have a giant print of this on my wall, like a window looking out into an eternal summer. Have a great weekend, everyone!

Amazing. Growing up in the Midwest and now living in the North East fireflies are one of the things I miss most.

These almost look like they could be out of an animated movie! Absolutely beautiful.

It is incredible, mostly because it’s real. Stunning natural phenomenons like this will forever have me in awe.
