It may seem a little early to be planning your autumn activities, but this one is well worth the preparatory effort. So many of our favorite artists, designers, and craftspeople have participated in Squam Art Workshops, a gathering and which began in 2008 at Squam Lake in New Hampshire. This will be the first year that Squam heads abroad, and they couldn’t have picked a more amazing location than Abruzzo, Italy—a sparsely populated, nearly untouched medieval village near the Adriatic sea.

If you aren’t sold just based on the stunning location, then the roster of teachers and classes might seal the deal. In addition to classes on painting, knitting, and yoga, there will be two photography classes not one but two of our favorite ladies, Nikole Herriott and Jen Causey, will be hosting classes on photography, styling, and visual storytelling. If learning a few new skills, gathering with a small group of creative people, and exploring the idyllic countryside sound appealing, you should act now—Squam is currently offering an early bird special for registering before January 21st. Click here to find out more, and consider treating yourself to an October adventure in Abruzzo!
