If some of the illustrations in this edition of Sketches look familiar, it’s because we are sharing the work (and home) of Bu Lago Millán, the Argentinian artist who contributed to our most recent issue. The piece on page 50, entitled “Drawn-Out Decor,” features Bu’s drawings of her favorite nooks and elements within her home. With all its patterned textiles, it’s an ideal space for rendering. We thought it would be fun to share the real interior, a little bit of background on the rooms she chose, and a few sketches to show the process. Enjoy!
Kitchen: I love to put plants and flowers in all the corners of my house. Plants gives life to any room.
Dining: Sometimes I use this place for work. I love it because it is very bright and I have a beautiful ivy covering the wall, changing colors every season :)
Bedroom: My favorite piece is the Turkish cover. It’s a suzani embroidery from Istanbul. I love handmade fabrics from different cultures and I have them as a souvenirs from trips, Brazil, Morocco, Spain, Colombia, Mexico.
Trunk: This vintage trunk is a good alternative to put my fabrics collection! I have a lot of fabrics with my designs and I save them to make cushions, clothing, and gifts.

Really like it! Well done! As an illustrator, I’ll be glad to do a kinda project like that!
Besos preciosa!
