We hope you’ve had a chance to check out our recently launched Winter Gift Guide; if not, you’re in for a real treat! Thanksgiving is just a couple of days away, and if—after all the cooking, eating, and family discourse—you still find yourself looking for something to do over the holiday weekend, I recommend gathering a few supplies and hosting an afternoon of casual crafting. We’ve got you covered on gift ideas and projects. For the final touches, check out the packaging ideas from SHIMTOKK, a creative collaboration between designer Sally Shim and Joke Vande Geer of Tokketok letterpress studio.
If you live in the vicinity of Portland, Oregon, be on the lookout for one of SHIMTOKK’s packaging workshops. In addition to the goody bags they give out (shown below), the three-hour workshop provides hands-on tutorials for creating handmade wrapping paper, custom gift tags, gift labels, and cards. Non-Portland residents need not fret, however—there’s plenty to see and learn from their blog projects as well. If you’re really ambitious, you could probably have all of your gifts made, packaged adorably, and ready to deliver by the beginning of December! We won’t hold you to that, of course.
