I love living in California, but as a born n’ raised north east-coaster, I occasionally miss the feeling of a crisp, bright New England November day on my skin. Yesterday I caught a cool breeze and heard the sound of brittle leaves scratching against the sidewalks in Oakland; it really felt like a fall day delivered straight from my youth. Thanksgiving is just around the corner, and we’ve wrapped up some big projects recently that we can’t wait to share with you. I hope you all can spend the weekend relaxing and allowing yourself to indulge in a little pre-holiday excitement!
In honor of that, I thought I would share this video Lovely Owl, from Italian artist Nura-T. I’ve always loved owls; they have such powerful, mysterious, and lovely faces—it’s no wonder that owl iconography is so strong within the world of art and design. But this film is the one the first instances for me of seeing an owl as adorable, almost like a cat. I hope you enjoy it. Have a great weekend!

This video made me melt! I totally agree with the cat-like similarities. Absolutely adorable. Thank you for sharing — made my morning, indeed!
We had two pet owls when I was a girl (we raised them from new hatchlings) and one of them really loved being with us, being pet. The other liked us, but was less hands-on. It was so cool to live with these amazing creatures. Thanks for the video, it made my day!
What a hoot! I love this!
I was thinking it reminded me of a cat too. hahaha, they are kind of cute.
This post was my favourite of 2011!
Thank you.
Have often thought our cat looks like an owl sometimes :)
