At first glance, these may appear to be landscapes captured in some distant part of the world—and in a way, they are. Artist Kim Keever creates these miniature worlds inside a 200-gallon fish tank, then projects various kinds of light through the water to create these dreamy large-scale photographs. Reminiscent of the Hudson River school and the Romantic “painters of light,” these photographs also have a wonderful sci-fi twist to them; a subtle yet eery artificiality. I love them! Stunning!!
cool. they remind me of the works of Matthew Albanese… he creates worlds out of sugar and salt, prairies out of fur and clouds out of cotton wool.

You find the best things Kate. The first thought that entered my mind when I saw these was the lord of the rings books – this is how I pictured the books when I read them. Absolutely mind-blowing.
Thank you, Hila! Okay admission time: I started playing Magic earlier this year, and since then I’ve been really into art with a bit of a “mystical lands” type surrealism. I’ll be sure to keep it coming :)
ha, great admission :)
