I love seeing sketchbooks with bits + pieces actually taped onto the pages. I often collect things to keep in my inspiration books, but somehow they never manage to make it in there—instead they just clutter drawers. Today’s Sketches are from Afsaneh Tajvidi, a Toronto-based artist with a range of talents: jewelry, paintings, adorable clay sculptures, photography, and more. Her sketchbooks are just as tactile, colorful, and delicate as her finished pieces, and I really love seeing that she takes inspiration from her grandfather Hadi Tajvidi, who was a master of traditional Persian Miniature Painting. Thanks for sharing your sketchbooks with us, Afsaneh.

I love seeing other people’s sketch books.
These are lovely!
I’ve long been a fan of her work… she’s phenomenal. Thanks for sharing these sketches. I only wish my sketchbook looked that beautiful! :-)
these scrapbook/sketches are so inspiring!!!
So very inspiring. I totally needed that. Now, if only I had her nice handwriting!
Thanks so much for sharing,
xoxo
A sketch book is on my goal list, and these sketches are very inspiring. Thanks!!
Getting out my abandoned journals now.
These are beautiful and so neatly, lovingly, intently done.
Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous! And I’ve been wondering for AGES what people use to achieve such detailed work on stones (I use acrylic paint and tiny brushes or cocktail sticks, but can’t produce anything like this with them…) – so THANK YOU for introducing me to the wonders of Pigma Micron pens … :o)
