{The Dig} Studley Tool Chest

by kate on September 23, 2011

It’s been a busy week for the Anthology team, and we’re ready to head out into the sunshine and enjoy a little R+R. However, as slaves to our workaholic tendencies, we will likely be diving into some exciting projects for fall and winter as well, so stay tuned! I wish that we could have a multipurpose, mega-toolkit like this for the magazine—it wouldn’t have contain the same tools, but it would definitely need to be this extensive.

This tool chest was designed in the late 1800s by Henry O. Studley, a piano maker and mason from Massachusetts. The wall-mounted piece holds 300 tools yet takes up only about 40 inches by 20 inches of wall space when closed. Pretty amazing when you think about it! If we ever get around to building an Anthology Magazine tool chest, I’m sure it will be something like this :) Have a great weekend everyone!

This tool chest is a work of art. I just love everything organized and in it’s place.

What an exquisite tool set! The weather in SF is going to be perfect this weekend, so I can’t wait to go out and enjoy it. Happy weekend!

This tool chest is the gold standard for us carpenters. Why even bother to make one’s own after seeing this beauty? I’d love to have all the tools, too. Sigh…
