I discovered the combination of cumin and tomato several years ago, and my mind was officially blown. I love a bit of spice in my tomato soup, and it’s one of my go-to recipes when I need something cozy and nourishing. I’ve been meaning to try out this tomato soup with curry leaves from Journey Kitchen—it looks so delicious. Click here for the full recipe. Lovely pics.
We’ve been making a lot of soup lately; it’s great comfort food. I just discovered a creamy potato soup recipe a couple of weeks ago, and I’ve made it twice already. My favorite so far!
I LOVE potato soups…the ultimate cozy food and so creamy and delicious. Great idea—I’m definitely adding a potato soup to the list of recipes to make this fall. Thank you for sharing!
I eat a lot of homemade vegetable lentil soup – lentils have high fiber and low sugar, which makes it a healthy meal that i usually turn to when dieting :) Plus, it’s so thick and hearty, that it makes the perfect winter meal.
I just tried making it last night and my mom and I loved it! great recipe!
I’ve been working on a piece for 100+ soup recipes so, needless to say, it’s been on my mind a great deal lately. Tomato soup — especially prepared simply like this — is an all-time favorite of many. And, you’re right, the tomato/cumin relationship is a match made in heaven. A little crushed avocado with aged balsamic and sea salt on that dipping toast would truly complete the meal for me.
I’m a big fan of lentils, too, heading over to 101cookbooks for recipes like this Coconut Red Lentil: http://www.101cookbooks.com/archives/coconut-red-lentil-soup-recipe.html
