I’m very excited to share these off shoots from the article on Herriott Grace, as it is one of my favorite pieces in Issue No. 3. For those of you who haven’t read the article, I won’t spoil it, but I’ll just say that it’s wonderful to learn about a family business founded on the purity of raw materials and the capable hands of a skilled craftsman—the buttermilk cake recipe is a sweet little bonus, too! Here are some great outtakes from photographer Thayer Allyson Gowdy’s visit with Nikole Herriott and her father Lance at the Herriott’s farm on Vancouver Island. Enjoy!
More images after the jump…
Here’s Thayer! Looking lovely (and maybe a bit chilly) on the ferry to Vancouver Island.
Nikole with her father Lance, the man behind Herriott Grace’s lovely spoons and cake pedestals.
