It’s reasonable to believe that people who design installations for a living would extend their creative building skills to their own home. Still, I’m surprised and delighted to see so many wonderful and inventive display elements in this Brooklyn loft that the Domestic Construction girls share with two of their friends. You may recognize the rubberized collage rugs from their “Grounded” series, which we featured in April. They combine perfectly with the jumble of patterns, textures, and vintage objects to warm up this industrial space. My favorite part would have to be the details on the structure above—I wish the geometric mural was a wallpaper I could purchase and I love the shingle-like layers in the top photo (which I assume are made out of cardboard). Brilliant!
