Paper Garden

Mary Delany is a woman with a very interesting story, and for any art historians or botany enthusiasts out there, you may enjoy Molly Peacock’s book on Mrs. Delany’s life and work entitled The Paper Garden. Delany did not begin creating her collages until she was in her seventies, but still managed to produce a vast collection of incredible collages, made up of layers upon layers of intricately cut paper shapes. You can browse images of Delany’s Flora Delanica on the British Museum website, and to read more about The Paper Garden, I recommend checking out this review in the NY Times.
