Before any article can go to print, we are faced with the difficult yet highly enjoyable task of reviewing all our images and selecting our favorites that will make it into the magazine. We are very proud of our end results, but inevitably a few great pictures must be cut, which is why we’ve decided to devote a new column, Off Shoots, to sharing those with you.
The first round of off shoots offers a unique glimpse behind the scenes at Heath Ceramics. Founded in 1948 and revitalized under the new ownership of Robin Petravic and Catherine Bailey in 2003, Heath is one of the few mid century potteries that still exists today. To read more about this classic brand and their elegant, hand crafted products, pick up a copy of our second issue and take a peek at page 68! And if you can’t get enough, here are a few extra gems from the photo shoot—all taken by the talented Jen Siska.

A Heath Ceramics visit has been on my mental to-do list for a long time now. I’d better write it down to make that happen. But in the meanwhile, I’ll look for this article in the next? last? issue.
Oh, Heath. How I love you so. And, the concept of Off Shoots is perfect for those few great photos that don’t fall into the absolute favorite category.
