Anatolian Houses

by kate on February 2, 2011

Ogling the luscious pillows by Yastik yesterday immediately had me dreaming of a visit to Turkey. Located in the heart of Cappodocia—the ancient region of Anatolia in central Turkey—the Anatolian Houses promises to provide an unforgettable hotel experience. The cave resort is nestled into the rocky hillside above the scenic Goreme Valley, allowing its residents a small taste of life in an ancient civilization.

Wow, is all I can say. Even though the suites are carved directly into a series of old caves, this is hardly primitive living—no luxury was spared when it comes to furnishings, linens, and amenities. With a dramatic indoor-to-outdoor pool and an ancient fountain flowing with red wine (no, I’m not kidding), Anatolian Houses is nothing short of a fairy tale. You can book reservations online here, and learn more about the surrounding Cappadocia region here.

I’ve added these incredible accommodations to my list of MUST-SEES a year ago. I’m still working up to my plans to visit Turkey and in the very least spend one night in the Anatolian houses.

Thanks for the reminder and thanks for sharing!

That’s so exciting Tania! You have to tell us how it is when you go. My guess is that it will be magical, especially that pool. Oh, and the wine fountain! I need to hear reports on the wine fountain:)

What an amazing hotel! I usually stay at hostels when I travel but this looks like a good place so splurge. Maybe next time I go home to Greece, I’ll have to plan a side trip to Turkey.
