Piet Hein Eek

This marvelous looking restaurant is the brainchild of Dutch designer Piet Hien Eek. Piet Hein is a man of incredible ingenuity and talent, with a huge body of both personal and commissioned work ranging from furniture and lighting to interiors, installations, architecture, and more.

If you are planning a trip to Eindhoven or are lucky enough to live in the area, this restaurant should not be missed. For the rest of us, there are some great decor ideas to be gained from this unique and whimsical space. I would love to have a gold dining table surrounded by ornately upholstered chairs, and the cluster of pendant lamps in a a circular composition is pure genius.

So funny, I just saw this space in Elle Wonen the other day but it was in Dutch so I didn’t know it was a place I could actually visit, as I thought it was a company cafeteria or something. I’ll be sure to check it out on my next visit to Eindhoven!
