As a prestigious journalistic enterprise, The New York Times has a clear obligation to provide a story and not just pretty pictures for the homes it features. The Home & Garden team at the Times seems to sincerely enjoy the history lessons as much as we do, however, and for that I love them dearly.
Last week they shared a wonderful space with the most interesting background. I won’t recap the entire story here, since they tell it so well.
