Heike Weber

Now that the weather has me staying indoors, I’m in the mood to be in a room with a dramatic, immersive art installation. The most recent art exhibits I’ve seen have been phenomenal, but none of them have been as large scale and environmental as these pieces by Heike Weber.

Her work is a wonderful combination of simple materials and a remarkably skilled hand. These amazing floors are made with permanent marker on vinyl, and her kilim rug designs are made with a  silicone. Weber’s work has inspired me to rummage around for some basic art supplies and create a totally new indoor environment. Perhaps it will make the winter months more enjoyable.
